dear m06106,

it has been a year. a very short/long/great/fun/stressful etc. etc. year. i must say, we had our fair share of unhappiness and fun, and im really glad that this year ended well. (what with arts fest and all) remember the arguments over class tee shirt (i know its still not out yet; but...) and stuff? well. after all that. i hope you guys all have your own lot of happy memories to hold on to. those times we had fun together, and when we all competed against all the others for youth day. you know what. i think we bonded very well. at least, better than other mentor group classes. (i hope) we did have our difficulties, but it all went well, didnt it?

all 24 of us are part of m06106. not 22, 23 but 24. without all of us, m06106 wont be m06106. so. yeah.

oh and i think we're going to change our class name next year. m07206 or something.

as a last note, i agree the arts fest didnt go as well as expected, but well, we tried, didnt we?

so enjoy your holidays! and come back recharged for the new school year.

as you might already know,we're doing nail art for the carnival.erm we have a limited budget [$50 for EVERYTHING] so....we need your help for some stuff...as in donations *dodges rotten tomatoes*
well i don't mean $...erm..here's the list;

cotton wool and cotton buds,tooth picks and nail art brushes
-for removing mistakes and painting details.[cotton wool,cotton buds and tooth picks are necessities]
table cloth,fairytale/fantasy decorations
-to decorate the classroom and protect the tables from spillage.
nail polish
- bring some nail polish that you/your mom/your sister wants to give up.any color.
the more the merrier! =)

just bring a few items each and it'll be good enough.teamwork =)

come to think of it, if you fall sick, then you dont need to take the exam, and then you can just take the CA marks as your overall! then the world will be a better place to live in.
On the other hand, if you have been failing your CA like what i did to my chinese, DONT EVER FORGET to turn up for the exam.

last mentoring session of the year...and other stuff

On 25th October 2006, last day of mentoring, we, m06106, cleaned our classroom. As in, YES, sweeping and mopping. Firstly, we evacuated the classroom and put the chairs and bags on the tables.Then, we borrowed the sch toilet cleaners' cleaning trolley thing and we swept the floor 1st. Then, Tiffany mopped the floor.

In the meantime, outside the classroom, we were discussing about the arts fest thing.

Here, we have Ms Koh convincing the guys to become models for our nail designs :))))
Did u REALLY believe me??? Siao!! Ms Koh was actuali telling them tt she wont force them to be models(bcos we girls INSISTED, heh...oh come on! or not what wld they do??). Ohk, and inside, Tiffany was all done. Look at our spotless classroom!!! :DDD
At last, we all went back in and wrote all the arts fest deatils on the white board. U noe, all the who-does-wat stuff. Tts Sabrina writin and ms koh making sure she dusn write EXTRA stuff. hehe, no lah.

Wah, its reali fun being the class cameraWOMAN!!! Heh, being stupid. ohk, exam coming, dun tink abt arts fest animore. GO STUDY!

Well, im sure you guys know tt ms cheong's leaving rite? So yea, we had a 'Ms Cheong fund' and we collected $25!!! whee!

We went shopping at clementi central on wednesday. in the end, we bought a necklace( wif a CuSO4 kind of stone as the pendant), a bottle( u noe the gift kind?) and 4 different kinds of choc- Hershely (correct spelling rite??) milk n cookies, toblerone black choc, strawberry choc and merci choc i tink. we put it all into this nice silver paperbag. :)
for the bottle, danie made 24 stars and we cut strips of blue paper and wrote a nice note on orange paper, rolled up & put all these into the bottle. oh yea, the messgae we thought up and wrote in the note was reali cool:

and the WHOLE class has to paint the nails whether you are girl, guy or gay. no exceptions unless you chop off the fingers.
then we will paint your toenails instead.
and the guys shall be models!
they shall be prancing around in little tutus like ballerinas (not) and telling everyone to paint their nails!

The adventures of m06106-heh, or at least our wonderful dayJ

{This was supposed to be posted like, last week, but heck...its not too late rite?}

Today started out okay. We had english, then, break, then maths...oh yea, in maths, Mr Lee gave us M&M's as children's day presents! yayy! Mr Lee rocks :) ! Oh, speaking of children's day, why not we have a lil Children's Day class celebration next week? A day to celebrate our kiddy livelyness!! Hehx, yay! There's a kid in me, there's a kid in you! All the fun we have together...Ok, im crapping. Back to our wonderful day :)

Aft maths we had history whcih is always fun & nice cos Ms Chua is always so comical and nice!! oh, yea, that reminds me,, history quiz on wed ppl, Lesson 7-9.. and then we had lunch,. Iam sure during lunch we were all mugging for chem test. Then, we had 1hr Chem in which we had 40min test. Next, we went for this talk by Prof. Urban Lendahl. When, the talk finished, we left e audi, duhh. and by this tym, Tiff, Yanling, Nelson, Shengze, Lynnette and Funan have gone for MOE lc 3rd lang. oral test.

So yea, we had 2hrs free period!! coz well, we were supposed to hav maths 230-330pm but Mr Lee nt around so he gave us free period!! Bt we haf to pass up maths ws 1103D also la by 730am the nx day to make up for it. So well, i tink the guys went to the canteen and 1/2 the girls went to fun place and the other 1/2 wandered off elsewhere..Ok, the FUN begins:)...

At abt 330pm, my 1/2 of the girls were in the lib , at the very back, u noe the empty shelves there? At the orange chairs. We were having girl talk, or as Ivan puts it "Secret Meeting". lol. Then the class guys entered the lib n headed to the very back too, nearby, bt unlike us, they sat on the floor and used the empty shelves as tables. So traditional..or maybe ANCIENT n OUTDATED. I mean, isnt there this metal thingy now wif a smooth square surface to rest ur butt on called the CHAIR?? uhh..dots. Aniwae, we decided to play truth or dare!! Whee! Bt got interrupted during our deciding part by this male staff who got suspicious of our huge gathering n enterd the lib thru the bak door, dun ask me how. And then, when he left, Danie put her hand on dis ultra loose part of the bookshelf and it fell! All the guys rushed away with their bags n then, lewis helpd us girls fix it bak. so nice of Lewis :)..Why is he so nice nowadays?? Weird, aniwae, then, the librarian came and so we all automatically dispersed. It was so convincing kayy..we all broke up and were such good actors!! No one wld have guessed that we were all together as a huge bunch before. Then, we decided to go outside the lib so we dun in trouble and get chased out of the lib for making too much noise later. When we went outside however, we didnt play truth or dare and started fooling arnd n started playing near the fun place there. And then, the girls started throwing arnd the netball (Yr 1 netball frm netball team, I was in charge of keeping it tt wk:) ) and the guys got the ball so they kicked it on the road, past the bball court and GUESS WAT?? Wei ren kicked the ball, it hit the tree, flew ovr the fence and landed in e drain.YESH, the huge drain surrounding our sch. Oh man!!

But our class guys were oh so very super nice kayy :D ... Wei ren went to the start of the drain, tts at the main entrance of the sch there, near the HDB flats there, jumped in2 the drain and walked in the drain all the way to the part at the bball court behind to retrieve the ball. Aww, so nice!! He threw e ball ovr the fence and back in2 the sch. We left it on the ground n went to the main entrance to help Wei Ren get out of the drain. Gosh, Wei Ren is so nice! Then, we went bak, guess wat now? The ball was gone. We searchd everywhere, all arnd, NTH. I was so worried! Ms Loh wld kill me if i lost the ball! And not after Wei Ren was so nice to got in2 the drain, NO>. aww man. tt totali sucked. we were all worried.

Then, we soon found out Tianlu went to take the netball and hide it. Argh! Tianlu, you idiot!I was so relieved but ya..im expressing my annoyance at Tianlu! Argh. Bleargh. Ok,then, we had PE last and we had gymnastics! We did our 'rolling' grp rountine..we invented ourselves and presented it. So fun!! We were all so graceful and composed :) *tries to contain mad laughter*..okok, im exaggerating..We comical and clumsy but CREATIVE gymnasts :) Whee!! We had fun todae...or rather, that tuesdae, 26/9/06 :D

Oh and yesterday we played SOCCER!! Dunno if it can even be called soccer. Ms. Lee taught us the very very basics. (:

so, captains ball practice went wonderfully well today, except for smashed noses, broken glasses, ruptured stomachs and poked out eyeballs. (ok, im overdoing it)

So, on wednesday, all we have to do is to do the above to the opponents instead of our team members (well, but we cant help accidents), and make sure the teachers dont catch you and of course, try not to kill. If you cant help it, ahwells. We will live and let live.

And try not to fall off the chair Sabrina, we dont want you squashing someone to death. It will be a rather unsightly death. and you will have to bury him/her. now, that wont be nice would it.

and dont lose your concentration because some sweet young lady/man happens to walk past.

History lesson

To a large extent, i agree that girls rule, rock, are better than guys and are the best.
In 2006, 13 girls were put into class m06106 at NUS high school of maths and science. The number of girls placed in the class of 25 is huge in comparison to other classes who had less than 10 girls in each class and the ratio of guys is to the girls can be as suprising as 5:1. Since the school is a prestigous one, the school must have known that these certain group of girls are destined for greatness :)

True enough, in January, Sabrina designed the class CNY lantern. With this budding artists's supervision, 106 created the winning CNY lantern. Flying-golden-lucky-rice-pudding was the name of the lantern a.k.a. class 'dog'. 1st greatness achieved.

In July, a piece of glass slumping work done by Sabrina was given to Mr. Iskandar Jalil, a famous old pot maker, and also a cultural medallion recipient . It was chosen among many other outstanding artists in the school. 2nd greatness.

In Sem 2 of 2006, Guo Yanling won the EXCO elections and became class president/queen. She was up against tough candidates like the ever-famous Nelson Teo, the 'over-towering' Wei Ren and super-nice Ivan. There we have it, a female to lead class 106. From then on, 106 became more closely bonded than ever and the class spirit soared high. Go Yanling!! All hail the queen. 3rd greatness achieved for girls.

[She also is the only one in 106 who accelerated in chemistry!!!!]

On 11th September 2006, 106 had no biology class at 9.30am to 11.30am. So during the 2hrs of free periods, the 106 guys and girls had a b-ball match. Girls won the 1st match!!! Yea! Recalling a recent match they also played, in which the guys won, 106 decided to settle the score once and for all. They went for a 20minute break and came back. Then, the final match begun. However, seeing the guys tired made the 106 girls rethink their BRILLIANT strategy to win. Wanting the best for others, due to their hearts of precious gold, they slacked and pretended to play SIGNIFICANTLY worser than the match before. Thus, the guys won. These girls who have done greatness are Sabrina, Cheryl, Danielle, Yanling, Hanisah, Tiffany & Hafizah. The largest greatness so far achieved :D

These wonderful, angelic, brilliant, chosen ones are yet to perform more and bigger greatnesses throughout their years on NUS high. Don't forget, they're still in year 1. They are Cheryl, Danielle, Hanisah, Sabrina, Tiffany, Yanling, Hafizah, Jerdine, Yihui, Stella, Mao Jia, Jia Hui & Lynnette.
(If you calculate the percentage purity of the 106 guys's male-ness/manliness, you will find that the answer is 0.5%. So the 11 remaining 'girls' are Wei Ren, Lewis, Zikai, Ivan, Nelson, Funan, Zong Xuan, Yu han, Tianlu, Ryan & Shengze.)

In a nutshell, (it has been proven that)girls rule, rock, are better than guys and are the best[especially the 24 106 girls]. :)

for those who haven't,im telling u now.
WE'RE GETTING RESHUFFLED IN YEAR 3!

Rite, lets start wif fridae, 21st july.

Yup, it was annual cross country and our NAFA 2.4km run at ECP. Veri tiring, i tink we all agree. Bt the run was nt very far...it reali isnt compared to 5 rounds around the sch track. im nt sure it was 2.4 ...but who wants to complain? it was tiring enough. My leg still aches till 2dae....i cant run properly nw!!! Gah. Oh, not forgeting the Racial Harmony games. Ya, hopscotch is so damn boring compared to the yr2s' n 3s'!!! But apparently they tink its too VIOLENT for us yr 1s....i guess, but oh well. Aniwaes, we won 1st 4 the yr1s!!! Woohoo!!! Yeah. Crap la...we juz jumped alot. Eh, sum ppl said we're the most enthu yr1 clas or sumting...do u guys agree?? I tink our class unitedness is in the process of building up. Then, we had to do the extreme gourmet. 16 ppl had to go up. they were:

well.hi.
i'm glad that most of you wore black,white...[etc].And a significant number wore the class "wristband" too[mostly girls though,but heck].
though our structure didn't work out,in the end our flag was still raised...
i think '06106 has showed the most teamwork since Orientation,today.
but its still not "up to the standard",and we definately can improve LOTS on it!

frankly i think the bbq was a big messup. the coordination was quite poor you know... it was quite undecided how many people were going [and who apart from us has bbqs in the AFTERNOON SUN?!] haiz... percentage only about 30% turned up... and i have organised class meetups i organised one for 25june and a lot of ppl came. [thankuthankuhehe]
seriously those who didn't reply or said they were coming bt failed to show up... why??!! and for those who came at the wrong time... u should check ure email.
i have a suggestion: every first weekend of june and dec we meet up for the class birthdays of that month [if we really ever have any other birthdays, cos it doesnt look very good to me] seriously are we still having class gaths? [no offence to ms koh]

(my pri sku class bbq EVERYONE - 40 ppl came!!!)

er... u noe we are going to East Coast Park for our BBQ rite. Well... it is kind of inconvenient for those living in the west side to move all the way across singapore for our BBQ by public transport. so may i ask who is willing to like get ur parents and then drive us to the venue(carpool)--maybe for those living near each other???

and btw er...it kind of funni to have a BBQ in the afternoon. i tot BBQs are meant to be after 7??? issit?? why dun we have a picnic too???!!!! and we can have sth like pot luck party where evrybody prepares some food and tibits etc. but then we have to be careful to make sure tt the food is halal.

hello everyone! it's net net here! here's more updates on the BBQ. we meet at East Coast Park and we're buying our own pit as in we buy the materials required to BBQ like wire mesh, charcoal and set up the pit. so we meet at mcdonalds that day in order to choose a "feng shui" spot for the BBQ. we seriously need a feng shui spot to prevent us from messing up the BBQ. haha. jkjk. well, anyway, that's not really the reason why i type/write (whichever you want) this post. actually, i want to tell all of you that we have sort of invited our teachers there.
teachers invited: ms chen, mr wee & ms cheong [****** * **** ****** **** ***], ms seah, mr ku

teachers confirmed: ms chen (hopefully she comes in her beach wear), mr ku (kcm^2)
